FAQs: visiting a church in Galway
Coming to a new church for the first time can feel like a lot. Here are straight answers to the questions people usually ask.
What does L15 stand for?
L15 comes from Luke chapter 15, where Jesus tells three stories about God's heart for the lost, the hurting and the overlooked. Our church is built on that foundation: helping people find and follow Jesus through community.
Where is it and what time should I arrive?
We meet at the Maldron Hotel, Headford Point, Sandy Road, Galway H91 ET6N. We start at 11am. Arriving 10 minutes early gives you time to get settled.
Where in the hotel is it?
Rooms can change from week to week, so just ask at reception or look out for our fáilte team. They'll point you the right way.
How long is the service?
About an hour (60 to 65 minutes). We aim to start and finish on time.
What actually happens?
Our fáilte team will welcome you at the door. There'll be Songs and a short, practical talk from the Bible. Nothing awkward, no pressure to join in.
Is it family-friendly?
Yes. L15 Kids runs during the service for children aged 4 to 11. Every child is checked in. Kids play games, hear age-appropriate Bible stories and sing together in a clean, safe space, and our volunteers are Garda vetted.
What should I wear?
Whatever you're comfortable in. Some people come in jeans and trainers, others a bit dressier. There's no dress code here.
Do I have to believe in God to come?
Not at all. You're welcome whether you're exploring faith, returning to church or just curious.
Will I be asked to give money?
No. There's no expectation to give, especially if you're visiting. Just come and enjoy the morning.
Do I have to talk to anyone?
No pressure. We're friendly, not pushy. Slip in and out if that's your style, or say hello if you'd like.
Is there parking?
Yes. There's underground parking on two levels in the hotel basement, with the entrance straight off Sandy Road. It's free.
Do I need to RSVP?
It helps us plan, but it's not needed. Tap Plan your visit and fill in the short form, or just turn up. We'll save you a seat either way.
What happens if I fill in the Plan your visit form?
